Whether you are a seasoned rider on a Haflinger or in the saddle of a Shetland pony for the first time, at Hotel Neubichler Alm every young cowboy or cowgirl will find his or her horse. Michaela, our riding instructor, will ensure that every horse lover sits firmly and safely in the saddle. Private or group lessons are available. Those who wish to put their horse to a trot can join a riding excursion that takes you galloping through forests and across meadows.
Balance and skill are two important factors in great demand when dealing with horses, as equestrian fans will learn during their vaulting lesson. By practising a series of basic vaulting exercises the horse becomes a partner on which the vaulter learns to move freely, stand up safely and achieve a gentle landing on the horse’s back. .
Vaulting is simply gymnastics on the back of a galloping horse. It is practised by young children and teenagers and often provides the ideal opportunity to enter the world of equestrian sports.
Vaulting lessons are carried out in groups of up to 10 children, who display various figures while balancing themselves on horseback, together or alone. The sport does not only rely on gymnastic skills, but also the need to understand and harmonise with the horse, and communicate with other vaulters. At Hotel Neubichler Alm, children can begin learning to vault from the age of 6 years. The ideal age to start is 8 years.
